I am a general pediatrician working in a staff model HMO located in the Capital District of New York, CHP, recently affiliated with Kaiser-Permanente.
Clinical Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Albany Medical College; our group teaches both medical students and pediatric residents in our office and I do some inpatient teaching as well. I went to med school at U.Penn. ('74) and did pediatric residency at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in Philadelphia (first two years) and completed my training at Mt. Sinai in NYC.
I worked for the Indian Health Service for several years after residency in Pine Ridge, South Dakota and spent one year teaching at the Milwaukee Children's Hospital in the E.R. before coming to the Albany area and CHP in 1980.
Co-chairman of the A.A.P. Committee on Computers and Medical Informatics of the District 1, Chapter 2; we are currently getting our Chapter web page on-line. Prior to his appointment at Maimonides, Dr. Anhalt was Chief of the Pediatric Endocrine Division at Brooklyn Hospital Center. Dr. Anhalt completed his post-doctoral fellowship in pediatric endocrinology at Stanford University and the Lucille Salter Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford.
His research at Stanford focused on disorders of growth, puberty and diabetes. Dr. Anhalt has authored numerous textbooks chapters and research papers on various topics in his specialty. His particular interest is pediatric and abult obesity.
He directs the Kids Weight Down Program, a multi-disciplinary treatment program for obese children and their families.
He has lectured widely and participated as principal investigator of multi-center trials involving disorders of growth and puberty, and diabetes. In addition, Dr. Anhalt played an instrumental role in the development of a Nintendo game geared to educate juvenile diabetes. Dr. Anhalt, a Brooklyn native, is listed in the 1998, 1999 and 2000 New York Magazine's "Best Doctors in New York" issue.
He is chairman of the continuing medical education committee of the American College of Osteopathic Pediatricians, and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He is also Co-chairman of the Department of Pediatrics in New York College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Born in France in 1936, I immigrated to the US at 16 yrs of age. I received my medical degree from Medical College of Pennsylvania.
I did a pediatric residency in a county hospital near the city, then worked for 20 years as a pediatrician in a Brooklyn hospital. I then became a preceptor/teacher of pediatrics in the department of Family practice in another Brooklyn hopital teaching pediatrics to family physicians residents and at the same time was the supervisor of 11 school Nurse Practitioners. Shortly after starting work, I took a one year leave of absence in 1970 and worked in the pediatric department at what was then called the Tel Hashomer Medical Center in Israel
